Licensing System
The licensing system is a planned ikigize capability for monetized content distribution. It is not yet available in production.
Current Status
Planned Feature
Licensing is under active development. Today, ikigize supports ownership, roles, permissions, and visibility controls. Licensing and revenue workflows will be introduced in later releases.
What Is Planned
Licensing is intended to add reusable usage terms on top of existing access-control foundations.
Planned Capabilities
- Usage Terms: Define how content may be reused, modified, or redistributed
- Attribution Rules: Specify credit expectations for copied or adapted material
- Monetization Options: Support free and paid access models
- Revenue Allocation: Support contributor-aware payout logic for collaborative content
Roadmap Direction
Licensing is expected to ship in phases:
Phase 1 (Current Foundation)
- Ownership and entity control model
- Role and permission enforcement
- Visibility and access-condition model
Phase 2 (Core Licensing - Planned)
- Basic licensing terms and policy configuration
- Initial payment flow support
- Starter revenue allocation for straightforward ownership structures
Phase 3 (Advanced Licensing - Planned)
- Multi-contributor revenue allocation flows
- Deeper reporting and auditability
- Expanded licensing controls for organizations
How To Prepare
Teams can prepare now by:
- Keeping ownership metadata accurate
- Defining clear contributor records
- Standardizing role and permission governance
- Reviewing which content may become licensable later
